
Vanessa Matos has been practicing for 20 years in the area of Civil Litigation, with vast experience in medium and high-complexity litigation involving contract, tort, and insurance issues.
She also has 15 years of experience in the Insurance and Reinsurance Advisory practice, providing legal assistance to Brazil’s leading insurers in the adjustment of large-risk claims, particularly in the surety and financial lines segments.
Vanessa headed the Civil Litigation department at Sahione Advogados until 2012 subsequently joining Sergio Bermudes Advogados, which she left in 2017 to become one of the founding partners of Tavares & Chacur de Miranda Advogados.
In recent years, she has been acting in significant regulatory proceedings before SUSEP (Superintendence of Private Insurance) and the CVM (Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission), as well as in arbitration proceedings.
Vanessa holds a postgraduate degree in Insurance Law from the National School of Insurance (ENS).
In 2023 and 2024, she had the honor of serving on the Ethics and Disciplinary Tribunal of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Chapter (OAB/RJ).
